Resin Cleaner 3109 is an ammoniated
liquid citric acid blend designed to clean iron fouled zeolite resin and
iron oxide fouled closed loop piping systems.
Inhibited Citric Acid 3109 is used to maintain the efficiency of a
zeolite water softener. Whenever the softener resin bed is fouled with
iron, formula 3109 should be used to restore peak efficiency.
Inhibited Citric Acid 3109 can also be added to softeners weekly as a
normal preventative maintenance routine. Inhibited Citric Acid 3109
can also be added to closed piping systems to remove iron oxide
deposits and to passivate iron surfaces.

Density: 10.2 lbs./gal.
Initial Cleaning: Soak resin bed in 8% by weight solution of
Inhibited Citric Acid 3109 for 4-8 hours. Back wash resin bed
thoroughly and regenerate softener. For severely fouled resin beds,
increase soak time to 12-24 hours. A second application may be
beneficial for improved iron removal.
Preventative Maintenance Cleaning: Add 32 ounces of Inhibited
Citric Acid 3109 to the brine tank for each cubic foot of softener
capacity every 8 to 10 generations or as iron fouling demands. For

Inhibited Citric Acid 3109 is an acidic material. Do not take
internally. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Should contact occur,
flush immediately with large amounts of water. If any discomfort
